Secure Price Plan
The Secure Price Plan brings stability and predictability to your monthly natural gas costs. It is a physical agreement between your business and ours that outlines your natural gas rates.
We work with your business to predetermine your monthly natural gas consumption/load, based on your historical usage. Then we set a rate for you. This rate has the potential to mitigate your monthly natural gas charge, thus creating stability for effective cost budgeting.

Fixed Quantity Price Plan
With recent fluctuations in natural gas prices, more and more businesses are finding the option of a fixed price more attractive. With our Fixed Quantity Price Plan for natural gas, we can maximize your price stability by offering predictability to your monthly natural gas costs.
We work with your business to pre-determine your monthly natural gas consumption or load, based on historical monthly usage.

A Fixed Quantity Price Plan for natural gas is an innovative product that provides you with the following benefits:
- Flexibility if your consumption pattern varies drastically
- Accurate budgeting for your natural gas costs over the term of the agreement
- Eliminates the risk of fluctuating prices
How it Works:
Our plan allows your business to have a fixed price per GJ on a preset volume of natural gas. Since your business’ consumption pattern can vary depending on the time of year, this plan allows you to preset your consumption for each individual month. You can consume double in January than in June and still pay the same fixed price.
This is a great product to be combined with our demand side management as you can reduce your consumption over the term of the contract without penalty. It is a true “take and pay” plan. We understand that your business is dynamic and growing; our price plan has been designed to work with you through these changes.

Energy Smart Plan
With recent price fluctuation in the natural gas market, businesses are looking for options to reduce the impact of price spikes. The Direct Energy Business Services Energy Smart Plan was developed to ease the pain.

The Energy Smart Plan for natural gas is an innovative product that provides you with the following benefits:
- Take advantage of market prices with flexibility
- Fix your natural gas price seasonally or when consumption is higher
- Only one enrolment needed with amendments for locking-in
- Price stability with one call
How it Works:
Our Energy Smart Plan for natural gas allows your business to flip between the AECO "C" daily spot price and a fixed price. Upon signing a contract with Direct Energy Business Services, you can start out on the AECO "C" daily spot price with no volumetric obligation and monitor the market conditions. When the time and price is right – your business can "lock in" at a fixed price. To obtain the fixed price, your business confirms a specific volume of natural gas on a monthly basis. Once the “lock-in” period is over, your business automatically reverts back to the floating daily spot price. This is a perfect product for seasonal load customers.
