What You Need to Know Before Buying Windows & Roofing

Installing a new roof or replacing your windows can be one of the largest single investments any home owner can make. So be prepared before you buy. Here’s the low-down on what you need to know before you start renovating.

	How long is the warranty? Ask about Direct Energy's transferable non-prorated warranties.
	Does the company you are considering have all the licenses, insurance, and WSIB to protect you from any liability? Direct Energy is fully licenced and insured.
	Will the company you are considering ensure the job site is cleaned up and remove any debris? Direct Energy respects our customers' homes and gardens and ensures the job site is cleared of any debris and materials at the end of your renovation.
	What is the reputation of the company you are considering? In order to honour its warranties, your installation company needs to have a solid business reputation. We have been offering quality home improvements for over 25 years, and have a long history of customer satisfaction.
	Does the company's building practices meet or exceed building code standards? Direct Energy will ensure that your installation meets or exceeds all building code standards to ensure your warranties will continue to be in effect.
	Are the windows CSA certified? Ensure the windows you choose are not only tested in accordance with CSA standards, but are also CSA certified for the highest quality. All Direct Energy windows are CSA certified.
	Are the windows energy efficient, including ENERGY STAR® qualified? Energy efficient features include double or triple-glazed windows, Low E² and Argon gas fill, non-metallic spacers and effective weather stripping. In addition, look for windows that bear the ENERGY STAR logo.
	Are they quoting windows with full-frame removal or retrofit installation? The full-frame removal provides additional energy-efficiency options, but is also more costly. Direct Energy offers installation options to help suit your budget.
