We are happy to announce that with the help of our media sponsors, WHIO-TV and the Dayton Daily News, the 2nd annual Dayton, OH Volunteer Citizen of the Year award program launched this past weekend. Nominations are now being accepted through Sunday, October 27th, 2013.
The Volunteer Citizen of the Year award program recognizes the significant efforts of individuals who make their communities a better place to live. The award itself consists of:
- $5,000 donation to the winner’s 501(c)(3) accredited organization of choice in their respective community
- $1,000 cash prize to the winner
- Recognition of the winner’s achievement through a commemorative award
Nomination forms must be submitted by Sunday, October 27th, 2013 at 11:59 pm EST. A selection committee created by Direct Energy will review the submissions, and the winner will be announced in November. The complete rules, official nomination form, and all other information are available online at www.DirectEnergyVCOY.com.
Last year, in the Dayton program’s inaugural year, we honored Michael Brush for his outstanding volunteer work for a number of organizations in and around the Dayton area, including the American Cancer Society and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Miami Valley.
We look forward to crowning the second winner later this year!
