This Friday, November 15th, is America Recycles Day (ARD)! Established by the National Recycling Coalition in 1997, ARD is designed to be a national day when Americans are encouraged to recycle, purchase recycled products, and learn more about the benefits of recycling. Today, ARD is a program of the national nonprofit Keep America Beautiful, and there are events happening throughout the country in celebration of a greener America.
Are you interested in learning more about ARD and how you can participate? AmericaRecyclesDay.org is the website for you. There, you can learn how to host an ARD event on November 15th, find an event map and toolkit so that you can engage your community, and take the pledge to become more committed to recycling. You can also find recycling centers near you so that you can recycle the other 364 days of the year!
How are you celebrating America Recycles Day? What are your tips for helping reduce, reuse, and recycle in your everyday life? How have you convinced your family to begin the practice of recycling? Tell us on our Facebook page or send us a tweet! We love hearing from you.
