The morning of Friday, October 18th, 2013 was quite a heart-warming and rewarding experience, and I think my colleagues in the Direct Energy Columbus, OH office can agree. Three grassroots nonprofit organizations gathered in one place, all of which are committed to helping individuals in the community in dire need of assistance. Every little bit helps, and today these organizations each received a $2,500 Reduce Your Use For Good grant to help focus their funds and efforts on the causes closest to their hearts.
DWAVE, Mothers Helping Mothers, and Women’s City Club of Delaware County were all recipients of grants via the Direct Energy Reduce Your Use For Good energy efficiency grant program. DWAVE promotes equality for Ohio’s diverse deaf, deaf-blind, and hard of hearing communities. Mothers Helping Mothers provides refuge, support, and guidance for young mothers. And Women’s City Club of Delaware County is dedicated to providing a safe, affordable home for single working women of low income, and transitional assistance for a self-supportive future.
If you need some inspiration today, I urge you to watch their video submissions. I’ve never met so many women with the passion to help others day in and day out. It’s events like these that make my job worthwhile.
