Direct Energy served as a presenting sponsor of Bloomberg New Energy Finance’s Future of Energy Summit in New York, NY on April 4-5, 2016. This invitation-only event attracted more than 1,000 top executives in the energy industry, including Michael Bloomberg and Secretary of State John Kerry.
Direct Energy was the star of the show with three executives taking the stage: President & CEO Badar Khan, EVP of Corporate Affairs Jim Steffes, and Director of Distributed Energy & Power, Centrica plc Todd Sandford. President of Direct Energy Business John Schultz hosted a special dinner featuring Clayton Christensen, Harvard Business School professor & author of The Innovator’s Dilemma, an event that was completely full with more than 130 guests. Badar was also hand-selected to attend a private roundtable discussion on the Global Clean Energy Market with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry.
Beyond speaking engagements, Direct Energy had a presence in the main conference foyer and networking lounge displaying three touchscreens showcasing recently acquired Panoramic Power. To help demonstrate the efficacy of Panoramic Power, 20 sensors were installed across the event venue, The Grand Hyatt, on the HVAC, lights, and kitchen for the main ballroom floor. Throughout the two-day event, Panoramic Power’s PowerRadar app was displayed on two 55-inch touchscreens. Hundreds of attendees interacted with the displays to learn more about Panoramic Power’s capabilities.
We also hosted four “Meet the Experts” sessions during the breakout sessions at the energy summit. Yaniv Vardi, CEO Panoramic Power, Jon Rabinowitz, Head of Marketing, Panoramic Power, Bill Kenworthy, Head of Service Innovation, Direct Energy Business, and Jason Babik, Head of Power Business Development, Direct Energy Business mingled with attendees and answered questions. A third display located in the networking lounge featured a Panoramic Power overview video, PowerRadar app video, and a demonstration displaying data from four anonymous customer accounts.
