Glue and erasers for everyone!

With the cost of basic school supplies on the rise, some families struggle to purchase the essentials for their child’s upcoming school year. Many employees at Direct Energy have children and are all too familiar with the burden of school supply shopping.

Look at all those markers, highlighters, and colored pencils.

That’s why we took action in earlier this school year with an office-wide school supply drive benefiting 7 Houston-area elementary schools. Each floor in the Houston, TX office banded together to collect supplies. The drive lasted 2 weeks and was a sprint to the first day of school.

Overall, about  5,500 supplies were collected. At the end of the drive, 30 employees volunteered a total of 1,200 hours of their time sorting and delivering supplies to the elementary schools.
