All over Direct Energy’s service territory of Pittsburgh, PA, there are nonprofit organizations doing great work to help make the world a better place. Auberle is no exception, as this nonprofit organization serves at-risk children and families each year in 16 program areas, primarily in eight Southwestern Pennsylvania counties. Named Agency of the Year in the United States by the Alliance for Children and Families, Auberle helps thousands of children and their families through residential care, foster care, emergency shelter, in-home intervention, education, and workforce development, along with drug and alcohol and mental health programs. Programs include preventative and community-based services, with 40% of clients served in their home, school, or community.
Direct Energy was thrilled to present Auberle with a $2,500 energy efficiency grant on January 17, 2014 through its Reduce Your Use For Good program. Auberle was chosen as the latest recipient of a $2,500 grant from Direct Energy after the organization submitted a short video describing its mission to www.ReduceYourUseForGood.com. Auberle will be using the funds to purchase new energy efficient kitchen appliances for their residents and staff so that they can focus more on Auberle’s overall mission – to help troubled children and families heal themselves.
There are even more $2,500 energy efficiency grants available through the Reduce Your Use For Good program. To be eligible, nonprofits must have 501(c)(3) status and be in a Direct Energy service area. Nonprofits do not have to be a Direct Energy customer.
