It’s no secret that Doris is quite the agile Green Granny. She dressed up for Halloween and planned a great football party, and she did it all effortlessly while sharing easy-to-do green living tips. More recently, she took command of a lovely family dinner sharing a lengthy list of ways they could be more aware of their energy usage and how a few quick lifestyle changes could help. When asked what she would do with the money being saved from reducing her electricity usage, Doris transitions to a dream sequence of a fun “Girls’ Night Out” with her posse.
Those 4 ladies sure know how to pair a nice velour track suit with fuel-efficient car for a crazy night out on the town. But how does Doris save so much?
- For starters, switching from incandescent bulbs to CFL light bulbs can save a family about $60 a year.
- By getting rid of the additional “snack/beverage” fridge that some folks keep in their basement, garage, or “man cave,” you can save $120 a year.
- Use a low flow shower head, and it can cut your water usage by up to 50% and save 35 gallons of water every 10 minutes.
