Direct Energy made a lasting impression at Energy Thought Summit (ETS@Chicago) as one of the presenting sponsors. We hosted a #specialparty networking hour, featured two of our very own on VPs on panels, debuted our new Direct Energy studio and Direct Energy branded BrightBox mobile phone charging device (now placed on the iTOi mobile exhibit), and not to mention – Direct Energy officially announced the launch of Direct Your Energy while we were attending the event. Throughout the two days in Chicago, panelists discussed the future of energy from, solar, distributed generation and Smart Grids to the internet of things (iOT) and the connected home.
ETS@Chicago kicked off with a networking happy hour for attendees made up by numerous players in the energy industry which included utilities, environmental groups, and national media and energy professionals to Founders/CEOs of some of energy’s most exciting start-up companies.
Robbie Wright, Head of Digital & Innovation at Direct Energy officially announced the launch of Direct Your Energy to the conference attendees, which went live minutes before he took the stage. Social traffic spiked during his session when he quoted, “Ideas are free; the hustle is sold separately” when referencing a popular motivational saying – Wright’s quote received a total of 4 Re-tweets and 9 favorites.
During ETS@Chicago, the Zpryme team sent out the below email alert to Zpryme’s Energy Inisghts 55k+ subscribers and the conference attendees announcing the launch of Direct Your Energy on July 22 before Robbie Wright took the stage.
Direct Energy hosted a networking happy hour on the top floor of the iconimc Chicago Symphony Center, where over 200+ attendees enjoyed canapes and cocktails. Andrew Johnston, President of ETS, welcomed guests and congratulated Direct Energy on launching the next phase of the highly anticipated “Direct Your Energy” dashboard.
The momentum continued during the last day of the event with Len Diplock, Vice President of Corporate Development who took the ETS@Chicago stage to talk on a panel titled, “The Future of the Grid” moderated by Peter Kelly-Detwiler of Forbes.
The panel discussed various grid modernization efforts and how utilities services more than ever are in the midst of a rapid transformation embracing the transition to better understand their customers. Len was able to tie his comments back to the recent launch of Direct Your Plan and Direct Your Energy.
