During May, the Direct Energy Innovation to Inspiration mobile exhibit made its way to two US state capitols – Boston, MA and Harrisburg, PA. Direct Energy met with legislators, regulators, capitol staffers, students, startups, energy industry professionals, and local customers. At each stop, visitors had the opportunity to interact with our innovative tools and technology.
Through conversations with people touring the exhibit, we witnessed many “A-HA!” moments when visitors realized how it all works, how everything is connected, and how Direct Energy is using technology to put easy-to-understand, actionable data about energy usage into our customers’ hands.
The East Coast tour kicked off in Boston on May 4, 2016 with Big Orange parked just a block away from the Massachussetts statehouse. During the morning, employees from the Direct Energy Business sales team had the opportunity to tour the exhibit’s new look and interactive feel. Key legislators and regulators toured the exhibit in the afternoon.
On May 17th, the Innovation to Inspiration mobile exhibit returned to Harrisburg to show off the interactive updates that debuted this year. Since visiting two years ago, the mobile exhibit has been completely transformed into an interactive space that shows the future of energy. Visitors were enthralled with the interactive experiences onboard the exhibit.
Since 2014, the Direct Energy iTOi exhibit has visited capitol buildings in ten different instances: Austin, TX (twice); Boston, MA; Edmonton, Alberta; Columbus, OH (twice); Harrisburg, PA (twice); Sacramento, CA; and Springfield, IL.
