Why is my power disconnected?
Your power could be disconnected for two principal reasons:
- Your area is experiencing a temporary power outage due to complications with the electricity grid.
- Monthly Billed customers-You have an overdue unpaid balance that has caused a disconnection or Pay-As-You-Go customers: You have a $0 balance with Direct Energy.
- Monthly Billed customers: If your disconnection is due to an overdue unpaid balance, your service will be reconnected once pay the full balance of the past due amount. Please go to oam.directenergy.com/quick/pay or call 1-888-305-3828 to speak with one of our friendly customer care agents. Hours: 7:00am-10:00pm CT daily.
- Pay-As-You-Go customers: If your disconnection is due to a $0 balance, your service will be reconnected once you have a balance that is greater than $0. Please go to oam.directenergy.com/quick/pay to make a payment.
If your disconnection is due to a temporary power outage in your area, you will need to contact the TDSP for your area to inquire about the reason for the outage and obtain an estimated time frame in which your power will be reconnected. This information is provided below by area:
