You might need a New Occupancy Statement (NOS) form if your new premise has a Switch Hold. A Switch Hold is placed on a premise by a Retail Energy Provider (REP) (with customer's consent) for an outstanding bill or by the Transmission and Distribution Service Provider (TDSP, or utility company) due to meter tampering. In the event of a Switch Hold, a New Occupancy Statement is part of the documentation you need to provide as proof that you are the new occupant on the premise and are not associated with the previous occupant.
If there is a Switch Hold issue during your enrollment process, it is possible the previous occupant left without fulfilling outstanding debt. To have a switch hold removed, follow these steps:
