Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible plan I chose this electric company thinking I was getting a better plan here....worst decision ever!! My bill is double what it originally was with my past provider. When I spoke with customer service, the rep told me that I am obviously doing something wrong as the most electric is being used during the day on week days....now mind you my children are both in school and I work these days. So how is it possible that we are using more electric on week days. My thermostat is set to 66 while were not home and only 72 when we are....I am currently searching for a new electric company!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Its horrible I honestly regret moving my bill is way to high before I was on a prepaid plan with another company and I was paying way cheaper with the same amount energy I am using now and thatz cuz they didnt offer me free weekends it was still cheaper now i am trying to figure out how to pay me bill because you are charging way too me. If my bills continue like this I may need to end up paying to get out of my contract and go back to the company I was with. I really hate being here I truly regret leaving the other company.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good plan but more expensive The transition to this power plan was very seemless but that was possibily the only thing that easy. The Echo Dot is nice but I'll be honest I never use it to look up information. My biggest problem with this plan is the advertising is deceptive. Quite a few companies have a free weekends plan but this is the only that was advertised saying 100 free days of power (referring to the weekends you would have). My other problem with this plan is the customer service. After 4 different calls about the same issue I didn't actually solve my problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Plan I’m sorry I ever changed plans. My bill is double what is was with my old company.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst plan ever! There is nothing, i repeat nothing good about this plan! I recently switched and my bill was twice as much as before even after they said they gave free weekends. You end up paying over .16 kwh for this plan so you end up with a higher bill and no free weekends. I am switching back after only a month. They never even sent me a bill and when i called they told me i was set up for paperless billing which i never signed up for.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The worse plan I ever had. I bought this energy plan 2 months ago and my bills have never been this high. I am thinking about going back to Ambit and paying to break my plan.
Date published: 2018-08-11
Rated 4 out of 5 by from This one is the best Got this plan 2 months ago and it's not bad. I like the weekends that are free
Date published: 2018-08-01
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Beware: Two identical plans, 1 with dot, 1 without I bought the free weekend plan a few months ago because I wanted the free weekend plan and the echo dot. I never received the Echo Dot and when I contacted direct energy they said I signed up for the weekend plan that does not have the echo dot. They said that there was no difference between the plans. So make sure you pick the plan with the advertised Echo Dot, because if you pick the exact plan without the advertised Echo Dot, you are not getting it. Wish someone told me this when I was signing up.

what delivery charges would I be getting.

Asked by: Reynaldo
That's a wonderful question Reynaldo. For our Texas customers, there should be a document listed with the rate called an EFL, or Electricity Facts Label. This document will list out the recurring delivery fees from your Local Utility Company. They charge very similarly to Direct Energy, which is a monthly base fee and a usage related fee. Does plan rate include delivery charges of Oncor? If plan rate 11.5c/kWt does it include 3.456c/kWt of Oncor delivery or it is extra? Thank you

Asked by: Oksana
Thank you for sending in your question Oksana! The average rate that we show online, is based upon you using 2,000/kwh per month of electricity. The average rate includes our charges plus the recurring charges from Oncor. You can see the exact breakdown of the charges in the EFL (or Electricity Facts Label), on the rate page. The only charges that would be extra would be for things like a Service Fee for cutting tree limbs, or a meter fee - things like that! Have a wonderful day! - Kate

How can I cbange the date you come out to hook up service

Asked by: Crystal
Good Afternoon Crystal! Upon enrollment, it should have asked if you wanted service to begin on a certain date. If this date needs to be adjusted, please give us a call, and we can determine if we can adjust it manually. If anything is required, regarding your actual electrical meter, that would be the responsibility of your Utility company to schedule and process on your behalf. what is the provisioned smart meter?

Asked by: kimberly
A Smart Meter reads your usage in more detail than a conventional meter. The advanced meter communicates usage information via radio frequency back to the local utility for monitoring and billing purposes, called telemeter, so your meter does not need to physically be read by a technician. This helps us determine the difference between your Weekday usage and Weekend usage so we can bill you properly and provide the full credit for the designated free usage periods. Thanks! - Kate

what is the delivery charge?

Asked by: brett
The Delivery Charge is set by the utility for the delivery of the service. The Delivery Charge is a mix of usage-based fees as well as standard monthly fees. These fees are passed through to you without markup from your local utility. They cover the cost for maintaining the wires and for distributing your electricity. For the League City area, CenterPoint charges $5.47 per month (which is like a Customer Charge) and 3.871 cents/kwh used. Keep in mind that because this is a Free Weekends product, you are only charged for what you use during the weekdays! Thanks - Kate

I would like the prepaid service back what happened and why can't I receive it Direct Energy Power to Go where is it

Asked by: Katcent3
That's a great question! Today’s prepaid rates are based on the current cost of energy, which can change daily. The cost of energy is currently elevated over the next few months due to recent power plant closures that has the market concerned that there may be a shortage of power supply during peak usage periods this summer. Because the rates that we would be charging for your prepaid electric service may be significantly increased in order to cover the higher cost of energy this summer, we have decided that it is in the best interest of our customers to suspend offering new/additional prepaid electric offers until further notice. Please let us know if you have any further questions we can help with! We are always available via phone, Live Chat, or email. Have a great weekend - Kate
