Rewards are processed after the referred customer completes at least 10 days of active electricity service with Direct Energy.

For Texas customers: bill credits will be applied within two billing cycles.

For Midwest/Northeast customers: gift cards will be issued to the billing address on file within two billing cycles

To qualify for the reward, the new customer must sign up for a term plan using the referral code of a current Direct Energy customer. The new customer must then keep active service with Direct Energy for at least 10 days. Once that happens, the rewards for both the new customer and the current customer will be processed.

Note: Commercial entities are not eligible to participate in the referral program.

For Midwest/Northeast customers, the referral program is currently unavailable in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York.

Rewards are limited to eligible residential customers and exclude month‑to‑month plans, sales agents and mass or automated referrals.

Yes, Direct Energy may share basic information so your friend knows the referral was used.
