Q: When will I receive my reward?

Rewards are processed after the referred customer completes at least 10 days of active electricity service with Direct Energy. For Texas customers: bill credits will be applied within two billing cycles. For Midwest/Northeast customers: gift cards will be issued to the billing address on file within two billing cycles

When will I receive my reward?

For Texas customers: Processing of rewards will start after the referred customer completes at least 10 days of active electricity service with Direct Energy. Bill credits will be applied within two billing cycles..

For Midwest/Northeast customers: Processing of rewards will start after the referred customer completes 30 days of active electricity service with Direct Energy. The referred customer will receive a gift card after 30 days, and the referrer will receive a gift card after the referred customer completes 90 days of active service.

How do I qualify for a referral reward?

To qualify for the reward, the new customer must sign up for a term plan using the referral code of a current Direct Energy customer. The new customer must then keep active service with Direct Energy for at least 10 days (30 days in East/Midwest). Once that happens, the rewards for both the new customer and the current customer will be processed.

Note: Commercial entities are not eligible to participate in the referral program.

For Midwest/Northeast customers, the referral program is currently unavailable in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York.

Are there any eligibility requirements and restrictions?

Rewards are limited to eligible residential customers and exclude month‑to‑month plans, sales agents and mass or automated referrals.

Will my friend know I used their referral?

Yes, Direct Energy may share basic information so your friend knows the referral was used.

How is my personal information used?

Information is used only to administer the referral program, issue rewards, and comply with legal requirements. All participation is subject to the Direct Energy Privacy Notice.
