Questions & Answers

I am confused on your facts label for the Twelve Hour Power 12 , could you give me the example on your calculation for 1500kWh and 3500kWh usage?

Asked by: winnie
They are just giving you averages based on an estimated 45% of your energy usage being during the night in order to detract from the outrageous $.17+/kWh they'll charge you during the day. For instance, I have my 4Change data from my $.08+/kWh plan that cost me $312 including taxes (I have a pool and two AC units). When I run the data in Excel to compare this plan to the Texas Direct 12-hour plan, I see that ONLY my daytime usage would generate ONLY usage charges (that means taxes must be added) of $322/month. Currently, my taxes are 32% of my bill (this is about comparable to California), so my hypothetical $322 TexasDirect usage would cost me $425/month total bill. So all things considered, this "free" electricity would cost me 33% more each month than I currently pay. Their calculator is factoring a percentage of 45% night and 55% day while I actually use about 75% day and 25% night (I'm sure it's not a coincidence that it works so far in their favor).

How do I know that I can get a Smart meter installed for my apartment? Is this up to my apartment manager? Its an older community built in 1984. Would the wiring etc handle a Smart meter.

Asked by: Jennie

The price for different usage amount per kWh varies. As long as we use up to 2000kwh, the price will down to 11.8cents. So I am wondering the amount that we use between free hours 9:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. counted into the total volume? Thank you
